MAC Great Beyond...asian exclusive

As I mentioned before, during my Tokyo trip i purchased a lovely eyeshadow by MAC. From reviews I noted it was an asian exclusive, I have no idea if MAC will launche it in other countries if sales were booming. But if the will...go buy some of those eyeshadows!!

Since cool toned bright colors look best with my skin tone...and indeed I always grab those first ;) Great Beyond caught my eye. As you can see it contains 4 colors, which you can either sue seperate or mixed up. The sales assistent showed me it does look when mixed up...but the control freak I am in always keeping the pans tidy..I'm not mixing up my precious eyeshadow, you'll just have to trust me on that.

The swatches on my hand show each of the 4 colors. The upper half of each color is used over Too Faced Shadow Insurance...and the lower has no base of any kind. I've been wearing a combination of the 4 for several days and I do prefer it over a base ofc. Pigmentation is perfect and I looove the colors.

Normally I throw away the boxes, but this one is so cute with all the tiny japanese writing on it and since I reaaalllyy enjoyed that trip I'm gonna save it :)

300th post :) woooop

This is my 300th post on this blog!!

It's not really a milestone I've reached...it's just plain fun really :)
As I started this blog I wanted to be a little spot where I could share my hobbies and interests like nailpolish, beauty/make-up, gaming/mmorpg's, food, baking, jewelry making etc etc... and I succeeded in that. The main subject has to be my continuously growing nailpolish obsession, but I'm fine with that :) In fact...I'll tell a funny pink story and end up with pink nails and cupcakes!!

After I'm done with work, I ride my bicycle home...make diner or the hubby does that, eat, do dishes or laundry, watch some tv or fall asleep on the couch...EXCEPT!!! when it's brides evening hahaha. Programs like Say Yes to the Dress or Brides of Beverly Hills...I love it. I've been married for a little over 2 yrs so I don't really have the desire to organise anything for ourselves, but it's so much fun to see all the emotions of others. Some fun and emotional moments, but others can almost lead into fights when bridesmades suddenly don't want to wear a particular color :S And what about hose girls that decide to try on dresses waaay above their budget or even worst their families budget. I love watching it as I really have no idea what goes on in their minds :)

We got married but I had plenty of time to arrange everything, as we already set a specific date, the day we would be together 10yrs. And for me...a wedding..well yes it's special and we as well wanted to celebrate it with the ones who are closest to us. But we both agreed on certain costs. I didn't want my dress to be $5000...or even $2000. In the end my dress cost me $150 and I was so happy with it. I spend 2 days trying and fitting some dresses with my friends on in shops just to see what style would look great and what felt right for my body, and after that I ended up emailing with a chinese/american company and they handmade it for me. I just ended up with more money to spend on my weddingring and our trip haha.

Hmm yes I've shown that silly photo before, and my actual funny story got a little twist and ended up different then I had expected....and you can hardly see my $150 dress duhh

I just like programs like that, people getting overexcited about things they all of a sudden loose all grip of reality..in a fun way :) And me seeing things like that thinking...aah I can that in a much more cheaper way. And I surf the netsz for cheap cheap stores and ideas blabla and I get cheap nail polish and amazing swaps in MUA!!

I'll end it up fast with some pink nails and pink cupcakes before I brabble too much about my cheap hobbies ;)

I sewiously ated almost all!!! Vanilla cupcakes with a rasberry icing both colored extremely pink ofc since that tastes way better.
And I had to do my nails in my latest obtained pink polish. It's lovely MAC - Vagabondage :)

Our vacation is booked!!

I had a day off today and a spare trainticket in my pocket. So I decided to return a clothingitem at Primark near rotterdam, and take the next train to Amsterdam....I already knew I would be traveling most part of the day then actually visiting shops. I didn't really mind as I don't have any problems traveling by public transportations. Back when I was still a student it did had some downsides, many classhours I missed because of railroad accidents or jams at the railroads. A day like today was just plain relaxing tbh :)

I started at MAC...as usual :) Though I have quite some amount of MAC eyeshadows/palettes due to swapping on MUA, I thought it would be time to buy some new brushes. I got my mind on Sigma brushes quite some time, but I never really gotten myself to actually buy a nice set online, and perhaps I should have looking at my MAC receipt now :S All i wanted for now was nr217 & nr219 (well I did want nr211 as well, but adding that one as well was just a litle tooo much for now)

After MAC I went to Inglot, cause I thought it would be time to buy a new blush. I reaallly wanted a LE MAC blush, the cute sakura heartshaped in the middle pinky pink, but the Evulbay price is way to high. So I thought...for that amount of money I can easily buy a nice palette with 3 blushes at Inglot ;) But entering the freedom system provided either 1 blush combined with 3 eyeshows or 4 blushes in1...but I already picked out 3 bah! I really wasn't able to find nr4, so I picked out the one I liked most and made some sort of deal with the cashier. I bought the system with only the blush, but I would return in 2 weeks (yes again Amsterdam cause I have a Vichy thiny again in the city yay!!) and pick out my 3 eyeshadows as I really had no clue what to pick, I had been busy almost 30minutes picking out pinky cheek colors. I might end up with some greenish eyeshadow...I always pick out pick/purple tones.... It's nr56 btw :)

Then I went to a small shop owned by an amazingly sweet woman. It's filled with clothes, shoes, accesoires, facial/body care, make-up and with bottle filled with anti-oxidants... Which I was looking for!! I read about them in a magazine and the really got my attention tbh. The brand is called Pure Inventions and they're very hard to get in my country. There is 1 online shop and a handful of shops spread along the country. These little bottles conaine a highly concentrated formula filled with fruit extracts and anti-oxidants. By adding a small amount to a glass of water you "promote good health and wellbeing" as the website mentions. I'm very eager to try out, a little extras can't harm right?! I didn't really have the change to pick out as she had limited available at the moment, but she was willing to order anything else. I took home a bottle of wild cherry apple + resveratrol. So I'm gonna use this for a while and hopefully see any difference or even feel any difference!!

Last but not least has something to do with our trip later on this year :) We had some troubles at start to figure out where we wanted to go. Since it's out of any summer seasonthingy we're not limited to any countries or hotels or whatever. At first we had a small idea of camping in France or Italy. Since we bought a new car last year it would be managable and somewhat fun to figure it out ourselves...and let's not forget less expensive ofc!! then the idea of traveling to Beijing passed by and we got motived to go to China indeed already looked up some hotels to pick from and getting slight ideas of what to do in the surroundings....But we waited too long with booking anything and the prices only rised and the fun faded blablabla. But!!!! now we have something else...I'll show the booklet I got in A'dam first, it leaves a small hint hihihi

Yesss Tokyo!!! OMG with extreme caps :) It still feels weird knowing we're actually going there. It was on our list of countries we wanted to go to one day but would never dream of cause it's far far away, expesive...and the list goes on :) It will take a while before we're actually going, but I'm always open for ideas or suggestions of what to do, what to eat, what to buy. My sweet australian friend already told me to stock some Anna Sui, Jill Stuart and Canmake.

Sooo that was my day...how was yours??? :)

my new MAC obsession

I can't really recall when it all happend, but I'm pretty sure my NY trip had to do somethign about it....but I'm slightly getting addicted to MAC cosmetics. Already bought some items here in NL, I still find the prices quite high here. Yes I know I know quality /price blabla, but I really think this brand is worth the money, only just US dollars not my euros. So I bought a couple of items on allmakeupwholesale and had the opportunity to swap some on MUA as well yay!!

sheen supreme lipstick Impressive, paint pots Girl Friendly & Delft, liquidlast liner Visionaire, fluidline Blitz&Glits (with tiny brush, very very handy!!) and a studio fix pressed powder which I will not use, yet, till my end of the swap has arrived.

Now I'm not very handy with the paintpots yet, I have a little practise to do :) Specially the blueish Delft as it can "stain" quite a bit if I don't smear it out even. Was thinking of buying a descent brush for it, but I have no clue which brush as I searched down for tutorials it seems everybody uses his/her own kind of way to apply it :S Ideas are always welcome!!

I'm completly in looove with the lipstick and pink eyeliner, I mean...they're so pinkish both!! What more do you want :)

Lucky meee...again :)

I told you all I was lucky enough to find several entire LE polish collections by Catrice and Essence. in the end it turned out more then I even hoped for; Papagena, Bohemia, Natventurista, Ballerina Backstage, Enter Wonderland...

But I was recently very very lucky at Sephora in Rotterdam!

As many dutch will recommend this, our Sephora shops are hidden in other shops. The little corners are devided over the Netherlands in the V&D retail shops. V&D has this little thing called "Circus of prices" which will last for about a midweek, filled with amazing sales on well everything the do sell!! This fantastic discount action is as well avaible in their Sephora shop-in-shops; pick out 3 pieces of makeup by the Sephoa brand only for 10euros.....yes you've read it correctly; 10euros!!

So why does V&D do this?! Is it to clean out old stock orr...I must admit I'm not even bothered about the answer :) All I know is since V&D doesn't have a shop in my town anymore I feel amazingly happy when I stop by one which has this sale :)

I was in Rotterdam with my colleague cause we "had"  to attend a special presentation of Vichy's latest Derm Source Lift Activ product, hence you see a small bag filled with a Vichy jar in it. Great presentation, filled with yummy food and a present at the end ;) But before we went there we had a little time for shopping. We stopped by one of the MAC selling points and I picked out an eyeshadow from their latest collection called Mythical. Normally I'm not into these redtype colored eyeshadows, but swatches and info had triggered my thought about it, since it's a great combo with blue colored eyes!! I just wanted to try it out :) I bought a pair amazingly cool black suede platform heels, so I'll just have to train a little at home ( I normally wear only flat shoes/boots cause of work )

http://www.bertieshoes.com/

At Sephora I picked out 3x my favorite mascara!! (these are normally 18,70euros), 2 different types of foundations and a little jar with "immediate wrinkle filler". My colleague had purchased some items for her family as well. We both had an amazing time in the train back home as we watched our receipt and laughed a little. Normally I would have payed about 107euros for what I picked out...now it was only 20euros O_o

What I bought in NY :)

Hmm where shall I start :)

I bought... 2 pairs of Uggs, 1 pair of Ugg insoles, 2 Levis jeans, 1 GAP jeans, 2 GAP sweaters, 3 Juicy Couture shirts, 1 House shirt, couple of headbands from Ricky's NY (can`t remember the brand, I had to cut off all tags :S ) Anna Sui bag, Anna Sui nail polish( 307...I totally forgot to bring my wishlist grr ), UD Naked palette, UD eye primer ( golden shimer ), MAC mineral blush, MAC blush brush, L`oreal souffle fond de teint ( can`t get those here yet! ), special eye liner brush, Magnolia Bakery cookbook, StarBucks coffee mug, StarBucks mocha coffee sticks andd normally I would buy a nice perfume to end a trip. Something that reminds me of the city. But since I had a terrible cold/couldn`t smell anything...and I had the strong desire to buy a pair of earstuds at tifanny...the earstuds won. Teeny tiny little silver bowshaped.

Is this all?! no not yet...polishes still!!

Seche Rebuild & Recondition...these were actually free at Slly Beauty as I purchased 4 bottles of China Glaze :) Sally Hansen crackle overcoat Vintage Violet, CG Senorita Bonita, Cha cha cha, Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Crushed Candy ( crackle yay! ), OPI suede Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow, matte Alpine snow ( finally I can make some nice french manicures ), La Paz-Itively Hot, Spark de triomphe, Zoya Marley, Crystal, Dannii, Sally Hansen HD DVD, 2x Seche Vite ( they were on sale at SB ), Out the Door Northern Lights holo topcoat, SOPI Who Let the Dorks Out? ( Glee edition ), I Don`t Bite ( Safari edition ), SinfulColors Cream Pink, Dream On, Essie Smooth Sailing, Finger Paints Art Dealer Tael-er, All you need is Color, Hue left a message? and a lovely rose-bag I received free with 3 Finger Paints :)

Am I satisfied with my shoppingspree?! I`ll be honoust...no..in a city like that, its never enough ;) We had an amazing time, and I`m very very happy with what I bought. Everything still needs to be used and tried ofc, but some moments...I just think...what if...and oeh I should have... ;)

MAC pigment shadows

Yes this is me trying to experiment with pigments...  :) Too bad I couldn`t capture the sexy pinkness of Kitschmas which I tried to spread all over my eye, and I used Deep Blue green as a thick eyeliner. Both pigments were used with Pixie eye color sealer, which I think is a great product!! Not too watery and not too oily, perfect! And yes...I use this amount of mascara each day :S Tons and tons, but I like it haha. To keep my brows a wee bit in shape I used Herome - Brow Gel in a slight light brown color otherwise it will make it all too dark.

So it`s just too bad the right colors weren`t really captured :S I`ll try it with different colors next time ;)

My Amsterdam haul :)

Last Saterday I went to Amsterdam with my hubbie. As I already know he isn`t a big shopper, at least not in the shops I like to visit, I set my mind on only a few shops i just had to to go and the rest was just fun and relax and we`ll see where it leads us to.

First we went to some comicbook shops where even i bought some items :S A nice issue of a Tank Girl comic...I truelly like those, I even liked the movie starring Lori Petty as the girl :) And I bought a Baby Qee..now this is rather difficult to explain so I`ll just. I buy the white/not yet decorated ones cause I like to get all creative on these. One of my favorite creations; painting one mat black and using a nice shimmering white to draw/write my favorite passage from Romeo & Juliet on it :) front and back btw.

Enough creativity...on to the amazing purchases weeewooo...

I sooo wanted to stop bij a huge department store called Bijenkorf, cause I know A`dam Bijenkorf has a flagship thingy of Koh...the dutch polish :) Omg..it was all heaven, the people there were soo sweet, and I had my hubbie waiting on a chair so i thought I shouldn`t make it too long, but in the end I think I did cause I couldn`t choose between the omg 120something colors. Should have taken pictures of it haha!! This is what I`ve bought;

Actually the pacted everything apart in nice bags, and even added some small gifts like a box to keep your rings in and a mini polish remover. They had some amazing offers; a box filled with 3 polishes matt black, a golden one and a color booster for 29.95 instead 59euros...but I wasn`t 100% sure if I`d use all those. The other offer was 1x color booster ( I already have 1 but hey can live with another), 1x Koh matte and 1 color of choice as well for 29,99 instead 59euros. And they had a nice box to pick 18 colors and pay something like 170 euros...but neh I didn`t need those in a million years haha. I had picked 2 colors I`d really liked and wanted the special matt box filled with 1 color of choice and the other one seperate. The cashier packed it all nice and I was really really happy...untill I opend it all at home :S The color that was placed in my 3 bottles offer special wasn`t the color I had picked. The girl was so nice and were so talk active she might have switched numbers cause she put 171 in in and not 117 aaarrghh, by the time I found out I was at home, which is 1,5hours away ( train ticket costs 25euros bleugh ) i emailed the shop with the problem, asking them how we can solve this problem, but I will hear of them within 3 days...sooo still waiting...big bummer :(  :(  I don`t really blame the girl, she was very friendly, but I like to see this taken care off. ( so I wanted 117 which is Smokey Violet, but got 171 instead which is Funky! and the other one is a flakie called 177 Blue Universe )

And i went to the MAC store..where the service was crap :) I asked one of the girls working there for advice on eyeshadows, saying I wanted something else then my purples I always use, I wanted a little extra, a little daredevil. Bah she didn`t gave any hints or tips at all, so I just ended up picking my own color which I love!! It`s called Contrast, a blue/purple yet very dark and has a bit of a velvery structure, normally I pick shimmers. I only bought the pan, and a refill case cause I`m pretty sure I want more colors!

It was a nice day really apart from weird things happening :) I`ll just wait for the response of the department store how to handle this problem :S and I know for now not to ask advice in the MAC stores haha. Ooow and buying the matt Koh polish...reminded me I own 4 matts by diferent brands, I think I`ll have a blogsale soon lolsz

MAC Bad Fairy

I looove the latest 3 MAC polishes ( they`re the only MAC ones I own ) I fell in love with all the swatches and reviews I`d seen the past couple of weeks, and I`d hoped to visit the MAC-store in Toulouse on our Avene trip...but unfortunatly I couldn`t find it and I don`t speak French that well to understand where a shop would be :S....so nothing left but order them through Ebay.

The pictures don`t really show the true colors, it`s way more vivid in real life!! Duochromes dancing on the lights showing the red, orange and even pink colors of this extreme multi-glitter polish. In this pic I`m wearing 3 layers topped with Seche Vite.

Ooeehhh nais

I couldn`t help myself...again :) But I fell in love with these 3 cute colors and I just had to have them. The 3 marvelous colors from MAC`s Venomous Villains collection. The urge of buying these was even way bigger then when I first saw Chanel`s Paradoxal and thank god there is Ebay for situations like this ;) Within 2 days after paying, the package came and I was so excited I almost tear the entire packaging hahaha. For now I`ll just drewl all over the bottles and I`ll prepare my nails nicely this weekend before trying any, cause to me these are class polishes which deserve a little extra ;)

** Oeh for those who are interesting!! I`ve adjusted my swap-page a little **
