tired....

yesss...

I'm back :) Tired, almost exhausted, having a slight jetleg/weird feeling of time. A suitcase filled with dirty laundry and massive shoppingstuff...but I can say...

Tokyo is awsome!!!!!!

I will need just a day extra just to get back into normal dutch life again. Do some foodshopping, cuddle the cats, eat "normal" food again..and then I'm ready to show you all my new goodies and share some photos and experiences with this amazing metropolis ;)

picture stolen from the interwebzss!!!

quick mini haul

I will be working at a different pharmacy from 1st of October on, which is located within the citys hospital. Since that's not really in the center of town, and I only have a 30mins. lunchbreak, I won't be able to go to the shops that often anymore :S

Perhaps that's the reason why I'm on a shopping haul every single day of the past week hahaha and we still have to go on our trip as well :)

Today I went to my favorite Kruitvat...not!!! The cashiers  should really have some sort of training "how to be polite to customers" I really don't like that place, the only reason I go there is cause they sell certain brands like Catrice and Essence. Ah well...in I went for these;

I already saw the peel-off basecoat on someone elses blog and it reminded me of P2 White Nail Mask which I reviewed here. Just had to buy it, cause I'm very very curious about it. Bet it will be amazing for glitter polishes :) The plate is just very cute and only came along as a little extra. The combination Colour and Change polish + effect designer....I will try out later this week ;) It's toooo warm to do my nails and atm they look so terrible. Extremely dry cuticles due to the weather and the many showers :S I picked out nr 3 Sweet Suprise as the base color/nail polish.

I stole this photo from Google!!!
My new sandals!!!! When I'm at work I'm always wearing my Birkenstock Molinas...but they're no good for vacation/citytrip. At first I was looking for other models with a heelstrap...but I couldn't find anything that caught my eye. After I read some forums I picked out this brand and this model. I'm not very familiair with the brand, my mum recently bought a different model and was very happy with them. I hope I'll be with these as well :) As you can see, plenty of space for my toes so I can still wear some amazing polish hahaha.

testing....Clinique even better eyes

I mentioned before I'm subscribed to a testingbureau, a mouth-to-mouth advertising network called The Insiders. They will often let you know if and when they will start new campaign on random products, by choice you can try to sign in for their campaigns the ones you want to take part in...but it's up to them if you make it in. Cause you have to tell a little about yourself, fill out some webbased forms and they'll take a look if you're suitable to join in.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email about Clinique even better eys eyecream and I know I would reaaallly want to take part in that campaign.....this is why;

**alert...not wearing any make-up**

Besides the no make-up look and pigmentation on my forehead and the dull skintone...I'm desperatly needed to go on a vacation soon :S...I'm starting to have darck cicles underneath my eyes.Boehoeee!! The more stress (work) situations give me, the darker they can get by the end of the week. So I was very very happy to find out I was going to join in this campaign!!!

Last Saterday the package arrived; 6 testers to spread out amongst friends/family/colleagues, a brochure about the campaign itself and the little tube of eyecream;

I thought today would be a perfect day to start with testing...because the past weekend has been amazingly hot and I didn't feel like doing anything at all, not even paying attention to beautyproducts :S Since I have 1 week left at work and will be having 5 weeks off after, I'll have plenty of time to serieusly pay attention to it..perhaps I will notice any differences :)

The idea behind these campaings is not to become a 100% satisfied blogger or make up a fancy story, but just tell the truth and share it with the world ;) I love that you won't be stuck with rules about what not or what to write, this will be purely what I think of it.....starting today!!!

Thus far day 1....feels great on my skin, application went very smooth as you cvan tell the tube as a special end which cools the skin a wee bit as well. So hardly any irritation to the skin. product itself is by Clinique..which stands for allergy tested, 100% fragrance free, opthalmologist tested, for all skin types (1,2,3 and 4)
Product isn't being sold in NL yet, that's why we get to test it, but I see it on many USA based internetshops, retailprice at $39.50

For those who want to register at The Insiders....you can follow this link;

Latest haul..which has a happy ending ;)

This...is....the worst that can happen with shipped packages ;)

I wrote about it 2 posts earlier. I felt a little incomplete without this OPI - I'm all Ears, so I decided to replace it (I did get a refund for it by the company) and since it's no point to just let 1 bottle be shipped, a couple of it's friends were invited to come along as well ;)

The special edition OPI _Spotted I've already shown, as well as a combination of 2 Mini Mouse OPI's...and CG -  Pink Plumeria...

CG - Exotic Encounters, Adventure Red-Y, Kalahari Kiss

2 polishes from Orly's Dark Shadow collection; Decadesof Dysfunction (wich is actually a re-release of Pure Porcelain) and Mysterieus Curse.

Long wanted Barielle Elle's Spell..yay!!

Complete limited collection Cucuba by Catrice;
1.Sunny Side, 2.Reggeaton, 3.Salsa Cubana, 4.Havana Drum and 5.Take it Mint
tadaaaa I couldn't stay behind :) I was actually watching the website each day till these would be available to order.
Unlucky as I am1 bottle leaked a bit, hence the weird looking cap.

I've been wearing No plain Jane all week and it just started to peel at the edges, which is amazing!

I lub em :)

Have you seen this brush by Bourjois?! It's like 2 sided brush 1 end for dotting and the other for creating a french manicure. For a fun brush I thought it was a bit overpriced tbh...€6,95 if I can recall, but I got it with a discount of 25%...which is still plenty :) I haven't tried it yet, but I did find a blog, Pretty in the Desert, which has amazing tips/photo's by Bourjois!!

I'll finish today with a photo of some cupcakes which I made for my sweet sweet cousins first bday :) She's turning into such a cute little girl!!

nomnom banana and strawberry flavoured blue and purple cupcakes.

300th post :) woooop

This is my 300th post on this blog!!

It's not really a milestone I've reached...it's just plain fun really :)
As I started this blog I wanted to be a little spot where I could share my hobbies and interests like nailpolish, beauty/make-up, gaming/mmorpg's, food, baking, jewelry making etc etc... and I succeeded in that. The main subject has to be my continuously growing nailpolish obsession, but I'm fine with that :) In fact...I'll tell a funny pink story and end up with pink nails and cupcakes!!

After I'm done with work, I ride my bicycle home...make diner or the hubby does that, eat, do dishes or laundry, watch some tv or fall asleep on the couch...EXCEPT!!! when it's brides evening hahaha. Programs like Say Yes to the Dress or Brides of Beverly Hills...I love it. I've been married for a little over 2 yrs so I don't really have the desire to organise anything for ourselves, but it's so much fun to see all the emotions of others. Some fun and emotional moments, but others can almost lead into fights when bridesmades suddenly don't want to wear a particular color :S And what about hose girls that decide to try on dresses waaay above their budget or even worst their families budget. I love watching it as I really have no idea what goes on in their minds :)

We got married but I had plenty of time to arrange everything, as we already set a specific date, the day we would be together 10yrs. And for me...a wedding..well yes it's special and we as well wanted to celebrate it with the ones who are closest to us. But we both agreed on certain costs. I didn't want my dress to be $5000...or even $2000. In the end my dress cost me $150 and I was so happy with it. I spend 2 days trying and fitting some dresses with my friends on in shops just to see what style would look great and what felt right for my body, and after that I ended up emailing with a chinese/american company and they handmade it for me. I just ended up with more money to spend on my weddingring and our trip haha.

Hmm yes I've shown that silly photo before, and my actual funny story got a little twist and ended up different then I had expected....and you can hardly see my $150 dress duhh

I just like programs like that, people getting overexcited about things they all of a sudden loose all grip of reality..in a fun way :) And me seeing things like that thinking...aah I can that in a much more cheaper way. And I surf the netsz for cheap cheap stores and ideas blabla and I get cheap nail polish and amazing swaps in MUA!!

I'll end it up fast with some pink nails and pink cupcakes before I brabble too much about my cheap hobbies ;)

I sewiously ated almost all!!! Vanilla cupcakes with a rasberry icing both colored extremely pink ofc since that tastes way better.
And I had to do my nails in my latest obtained pink polish. It's lovely MAC - Vagabondage :)

my past 1,5 months..

 Helloooo

so I was a little abscent :) and things happend as live just goes on and on and on....

I'll do a quick photoshoot of the past 1,5 months;

We've had some extreme fruits-of-the-region in our fridge for a while. lot's of strawberries, cherries and raspberries. Actually it was way too much as we ended up making smoothies with the raspberries cause we've had them for a while they already went squishy in their tiny cardboard boxes.

I've planted 4 different kind of seeds and 3 came out which are; basil, peppers and tomatoes. I wonder when the plants will give me their fruits s the weather is terrrrible here atm, only raining. I actually don't dare to put the plants outside now cause I'm afraid they'll get too much water/rain and that will just ruin all the "hard" work. So I'll just spoil them now inside the house and we'll just see how it'll go.

I baked cakes....and this is one of them. that same day I bought a new silicon mold for the bird/cherryblossom tree. Don't know how that would be for you, but when I buy something I immediatly wanna try it out. it's no fancy cake it's just 2layer spongecake with a cherry flavoured extremely purple colored icing nomnomnom. cause it was such a light snack it was gone in a couple of days :)

On to the polishes woooop
In this picture I finally try sort of a half moon manicure. The black polish is Illamasqua - Scorn, with Sephora by OPI - Shiny Dancer and topped it with Seche Vite...I love the blueish metallic look of Shiny Dancer and Scorn is one of the best blacks to work with...specially since it's originale a matte one.
 My favorite neonish pink/coral!!!!

China Glaze - Pink Plumera.

I was eager to pick out a pink colored from CG latest neon colors but it was soooo hard. I watched so many swatches and I decided on Pink Plumera and i ahven't regreted it at all!!! i love, it would look even better on a taned skin, but on pale it works out well :)
I've been waiting for this collection to be available for a while. I love pinks (and purples...) and i knew I had to have all 4 of teh OPI - Mini Mouse polishes...unfortunatly during the trip to my house 1 of the 4 bottles exploded and made a complete mess of the entire package, but I'll just re-order it cause i want them complete :)

I'm wearing If you Moust, you Moust with Nothin' Mouse about it, topped with Seche Vite.

This is actually the most amazing polish ever made!!!  Not the blue one but the black ;)
I'm wearing China Glaze - Techno Tael in 2 coats and topped it with....OPI - Spotted yessss

My special french friend :) has arranged a bottle for me during a tiny swap, big thnx to her mom, and i'm in love with it. I try not to use it too much, as I don't want to run out of it.
I'm still very into crackle polishes...no idea why?! But this one is just...special :)

Well that was kind of a fast forward view, I'm off to do my nails!!! Ooow I should really show my uber stash of swap goods from MUA. the pile is getting bigger and bigger :)

uber MIA

I've been away from blogging soooo long,
longer then I wanted even longer then I had expected :S

Think I just needed a little rest :) and it worked out well!!

I'm not ill, all is well physically and mentally, though a lot has happend. I just needed a tiny break because my body and mind needed it. My nails have grown quite a bit during that perdiod and I'm trying to maintain then at a certain length, cause they're longer now and I love em woooop.

I'll write a longer an more colorful post on wednesday with lots of photo's I've gathered during my break, cause I was  quite creative combining polishes and trying out my make-up stash which is growing and growing due to a couple of MUA swaps.

Thank you so much for staying listed as my follower, I'm back again and super excited ;)

yummy oils!!

Have you seen or even smelled the latest oils from The Body Shop????

I saw an advert in my mailbox, but I didn't really pay any attention to it. The advert was more about sort of a ladiesnight where new products would be introduced, such as make-up by Lily Cole, but it showed a small pictures of the small bottles of new body oils as well.

I was in Antwerp last saterday and I had to smell them. They come in small bottles of 100ml in different scents; strawberry, mango, pink grapefruit, shea, olive, sweet lemon,coconut, chocomania, satsuma, cocoa butter & moringa. The shop had a special introduction discount of 20% and I had to have one...well after I smelled em I actually wanted two, but the moringa was already being sold out boehoee.  I picked out the mango one and already used the tester all over my arms and hands so I could smell it's scent the entire day.

I stole this pic from the interwebzs

I looooove this fresh scent. It's really fruity, not too heavy and it reminds me of summer. As the bottle discribes you can either use it on skin (both body and face) or in your hair...which I haven't tried out yet, but I can imagine if you're a beach girl and want to protect your hair you would use this a lot! It dries up quite fast as well so your skin doesn't feel greasy all day. The only thing is I need to take care when to use it as my bf has a severe nutallergy and guess what it contains...a combination of 3 different kind of nut oils :)

A quick tiny post in between the madness called life ;)

I received a small package from OPI NL....I won goodies from a give-away on Facebook wooop!!

I stole this photo from the interwebz!!

I'm very lucky as they were only giving away 10sets and would draw 1 name eash day, 10days long.
But I won yaaay :) I'm looking forward to this weekend, cause I'll surely be trying it all out!!

hurray scored some LE Catrice & Essence

I was once lucky again to get my hands on some of the LE of Essence and Catrice, since we have the worst drugstore in the entire NL boehoee...but I nagged about it too much already ;)

Catrice LE Revoltaire;
all 5 polishes; Innocent Toxin, Attracting Camouflage, Colour Bomb, Colour of Honor, Mission Lilac
Colour Bomb blush
Both eyeshadow boxes; Toxic Combination, Explosive Combination
Lipstick nr 2 Nude Alarm, I didn't buy the others cause I wouldn't wear them. This is more my kind of color.

I really love the design of this LE. The eyeshadow boxes look very professional for such a cheap brand, but when you open them up..woooweee...some weird musty smell comes from them :S I didn't dare to use them yet. I'm gonna leave them for a bit till the smell wears off first haha.

Essence LE Fruity
Banana Joe, Peach Beauty, Very Cherry,  Mashed Berries and I got the scented tc. I only bought the polishes that caught my eye...and 1 was already sold out boehoee, so if anyone has a spare One Kiwi a Day...I would love to have it in my collection!!

Sooo much to try out again aahhh....

I think I will put myself on a no-buy polish regime for a while. I have such a big stash now, and so many colours not used yet and not payed enough attention to. And!! I should do more stamping, just because it's fun alone

Yesss this is my very first ever made lemon meringue pie :) My sweet friend Susannah who visited us (with hubby ofc) for a weekend in NL thought me her family recipe. Though the process had a slow start as I didn't buy the right flour, it ended up well. It does need more practise, but it looked and tasted soooo gooood :)

back with polish on my fingorsz

Wow...an entire month without any posts, I should really stop taking breaks so long haha.

For the entire month we've been busy redoing our attic and cleaning out the entire house. Since we moved in we used the attic as an extended storage space and only stuffed it with boxes or items we perhaps want to sell on Evulbay. But with the visit of our Uk friends, we had plenty of time to finally sort things through and really redo the place. So each evening after work and even during the weekend it was all about cleaning, throwing stuff away/drive to the citydump, and paint. Which meant for me extremely dry skin on body and hands, not to even mention my nails....oow wow they have suffered so much :S

During this month I went to Amsterdam, yes again :), with my colleague to a certain Vichy/LaRoche Posay sunseminar...but not without some shopping as we both had the day of and the seminar started after diner. I finally picked up my 3 eyeshadows at Inglot.

Now this was very hard for me to do as I always go for pinks and purples, I sooo wanted something different and googled my way for swatches. 44 (shine), 419 (pearl) and 444 (pearl), but one them is not the color I picked out, I wanted it to be moe with a hint of blueish but it was sold out so picked out a different one. Together they look amazing...but since green is new to me I still have to "play" with it more to create my own look :)

And yaaay, no more heavy cleaning or painting so it was time to do something to my hands :S I have them a nice treatment with a handsoak with Koh products, filed them down, erased the extreme excessive cuticles and painted them in my newly bought Essie polish. Yes you read that, Essie...my silly country started selling Essie at the Etos-shops and they were on a discount atm. I have bought an Essie polish on my NY trip and euhm...how shall I say this..it was super cheap/normal pricedd. But when some brands hit this shore and being sold out here prices almost double up or in some cases triple up and I aks myself why??? But I love the colors soooo muuchh and it's good quality, and I always say; I dont smoke, so I have "spare" money to spend (no offence on smokers, but that's just my way of approvel to spend money hahaha).

I ended up buying 2 bottles of Essie, Dive Bar and Smokin Hot.

And I luuuub em :)

Sooo what did I miss this month?! What have you been up to??

Our vacation is booked!!

I had a day off today and a spare trainticket in my pocket. So I decided to return a clothingitem at Primark near rotterdam, and take the next train to Amsterdam....I already knew I would be traveling most part of the day then actually visiting shops. I didn't really mind as I don't have any problems traveling by public transportations. Back when I was still a student it did had some downsides, many classhours I missed because of railroad accidents or jams at the railroads. A day like today was just plain relaxing tbh :)

I started at MAC...as usual :) Though I have quite some amount of MAC eyeshadows/palettes due to swapping on MUA, I thought it would be time to buy some new brushes. I got my mind on Sigma brushes quite some time, but I never really gotten myself to actually buy a nice set online, and perhaps I should have looking at my MAC receipt now :S All i wanted for now was nr217 & nr219 (well I did want nr211 as well, but adding that one as well was just a litle tooo much for now)

After MAC I went to Inglot, cause I thought it would be time to buy a new blush. I reaallly wanted a LE MAC blush, the cute sakura heartshaped in the middle pinky pink, but the Evulbay price is way to high. So I thought...for that amount of money I can easily buy a nice palette with 3 blushes at Inglot ;) But entering the freedom system provided either 1 blush combined with 3 eyeshows or 4 blushes in1...but I already picked out 3 bah! I really wasn't able to find nr4, so I picked out the one I liked most and made some sort of deal with the cashier. I bought the system with only the blush, but I would return in 2 weeks (yes again Amsterdam cause I have a Vichy thiny again in the city yay!!) and pick out my 3 eyeshadows as I really had no clue what to pick, I had been busy almost 30minutes picking out pinky cheek colors. I might end up with some greenish eyeshadow...I always pick out pick/purple tones.... It's nr56 btw :)

Then I went to a small shop owned by an amazingly sweet woman. It's filled with clothes, shoes, accesoires, facial/body care, make-up and with bottle filled with anti-oxidants... Which I was looking for!! I read about them in a magazine and the really got my attention tbh. The brand is called Pure Inventions and they're very hard to get in my country. There is 1 online shop and a handful of shops spread along the country. These little bottles conaine a highly concentrated formula filled with fruit extracts and anti-oxidants. By adding a small amount to a glass of water you "promote good health and wellbeing" as the website mentions. I'm very eager to try out, a little extras can't harm right?! I didn't really have the change to pick out as she had limited available at the moment, but she was willing to order anything else. I took home a bottle of wild cherry apple + resveratrol. So I'm gonna use this for a while and hopefully see any difference or even feel any difference!!

Last but not least has something to do with our trip later on this year :) We had some troubles at start to figure out where we wanted to go. Since it's out of any summer seasonthingy we're not limited to any countries or hotels or whatever. At first we had a small idea of camping in France or Italy. Since we bought a new car last year it would be managable and somewhat fun to figure it out ourselves...and let's not forget less expensive ofc!! then the idea of traveling to Beijing passed by and we got motived to go to China indeed already looked up some hotels to pick from and getting slight ideas of what to do in the surroundings....But we waited too long with booking anything and the prices only rised and the fun faded blablabla. But!!!! now we have something else...I'll show the booklet I got in A'dam first, it leaves a small hint hihihi

Yesss Tokyo!!! OMG with extreme caps :) It still feels weird knowing we're actually going there. It was on our list of countries we wanted to go to one day but would never dream of cause it's far far away, expesive...and the list goes on :) It will take a while before we're actually going, but I'm always open for ideas or suggestions of what to do, what to eat, what to buy. My sweet australian friend already told me to stock some Anna Sui, Jill Stuart and Canmake.

Sooo that was my day...how was yours??? :)

Naked 2 ;)

I recently purchased UD Naked 2 palette, cause well girls can't have enough eyeshadow palettes right?! I bought their first naked palette during my fabulous and lots-of-times-mentioned-cause-I-reaalllyy-loved-it trip to New York last year and I never regreted it at all. I would never subscribed myself as a nude color person. I'm more into cool yet bright colors such as purple and blueish perhaps a little green shades, but the nude ones worked out perfect!

When I saw some swatches and photos from Naked 2, I was filled with a little joy, cause these colors leaned more towards "cool" undertones. Big pro for me! Being here in NL some brands are a little more expensive then USA where I bought the other one. All I had to do is wait a little for some nice bargain, which popped up at Sephora woooop. And here it is in my possesion!!

As you can tell by the brushes which is which. The upper is the older, first palette en the own below is the latest Naked 2. They changed the outer box a bit. When used more often the lid of nr 1 will fall of at some point or become completly wacky, I like what they did on nr 2 more. It's more flexible. The downside for me is the double sided brush :S I'm sorry but I really don't like it. After cleaning it needs to dry flat and be placed in the box again cause I can't use it in my stand (normally the brush from nr 1 is my brushstand with aaaalll the other brushes). It's very nice to receive gifts like that, they added a mini lipgloss as well (to nr 1 they added a mini primer), but I'm gonna be mean and nag about it :) But besides that....totally happy and satisfied!! UD I'm still a customer woop.
