ArtDeco - Dita Von Teese

wow...where shall I start...

I have been MIA...again :S I'm not posting as much as I usd to, at least as a year ago and I feel a bit sad about it. On the other hand this is still a hobby for me, and other things just needed more time and attention I guess.

I started a new job from 1st of October, still in a pharmacy but this one is based in a hospital, and I'm having so much fun there. So many new things to see and learn. It was really time after almost 10yrs in a public pharmacy. Must admit I don't miss the patients comming at the counter with their nagging at all!! I do miss some of the sweet patients/customers who were in for a little chat...ah well, can't have it all!

I got swaftlifted on MUA....of course the other person is nowhere to be found. If you're reading this..I hope your happy with your goodies as it were quite a bunch of awsome stuff!!! Mua doesnt allow to write about names or whatever...but you... "pcm52311" or Shaina Mellon from Saltsburg if that is a real person.... I do hope you're happy with your new goodies :) You've only made it worse for other people now as I'm having trouble trusting swappers...gggrrrr. And that's all the rant time I'm allowing this topic to cost me. I do would like to thank all the amazing people I've had lovely swaps with, you mean a lot to me ;)

And now I'll move to the favorite part....sharing my new goodies with you!

I got these lovely Artdeco goodies when I went to Germany for some fabulous foodshopping with a friend. I'm familair with the brand as I once bought a small box with 3 refills. Everytime I see the stand I always take a quick look if there are some new colors that caught my eye. And yesss this time the entire stand did so!! there was a limited edition by Dita Von Teese. I wasn't aware of this edition cause I'm not really keeping track, so I was a bit suprised. The entire stand included nailpolishes, lipsticks, mascaras, eyeliners, refill blushes and a huge range of refill eyeshadows devided in glamour, matt and pearl finishes. I picked out nr300 Night Porter (glamour), nr150 Mascarade (pearl) and nr175 Sapphire (pearl).

As you can see they're all a bit dark/black based (all used over Too Faced shadow insurance) and i loooove em!! last one in row is Night Porter...looks more a matt to me than an actual "glamour" but still i'm glad I picked out these 3!! The refill eyeshadows are €4,80 and the LE box was €11,50. The size of the refill are half a square refill from Inglot...which is tiny. Check the entire LE collection here.

MAC Great Beyond...asian exclusive

As I mentioned before, during my Tokyo trip i purchased a lovely eyeshadow by MAC. From reviews I noted it was an asian exclusive, I have no idea if MAC will launche it in other countries if sales were booming. But if the will...go buy some of those eyeshadows!!

Since cool toned bright colors look best with my skin tone...and indeed I always grab those first ;) Great Beyond caught my eye. As you can see it contains 4 colors, which you can either sue seperate or mixed up. The sales assistent showed me it does look when mixed up...but the control freak I am in always keeping the pans tidy..I'm not mixing up my precious eyeshadow, you'll just have to trust me on that.

The swatches on my hand show each of the 4 colors. The upper half of each color is used over Too Faced Shadow Insurance...and the lower has no base of any kind. I've been wearing a combination of the 4 for several days and I do prefer it over a base ofc. Pigmentation is perfect and I looove the colors.

Normally I throw away the boxes, but this one is so cute with all the tiny japanese writing on it and since I reaaalllyy enjoyed that trip I'm gonna save it :)

cheap shopping!!

Sometimes you face cheap-shopping days and since they don't appear that often you should really enjoy them ;) By cheap-shopping I mean use discounts wisely or even some gift certificates...

I started at Douglas, cause they had a special offer from Herôme. If you would spend €8 on any Herôme products you coud pick out a free gift out of 3 things. I bought a new nail hardener cause my own was already started running out. The package I picked had a free glassfile worth €9,95 and I got to pick my free gift, I picked out Exit Damaged Nails Serum (an oil based product) worth €12,50.

I went to the Bodyshop cause I was there earlier that week but I couldn't find anything suitable...I became a member (for a year) which costs a membership of €10, but with the card they provide you they give a 10% discount on items you buy that year, and every €20 you spend you get points...depending on the amount of points you've saved up you can get a pressent yay!! AAaannd you can pick something out worth €10 (or more but get the €10 discount) in the month of your bday. Which for me is September. I picked out their BBcream nr 2, which I ended up paying €0,35 for ;) Not using it yet as I just started one of my Asian BBcreams.

Then I went to Etos cause I had a €15 bday giftcertificate...and I knew they had a special discount on all make-up brands. Buy 2 get 25% discount. Which I was happy about, I already picked out 2 items but I couldn't choose between them, and now I could buy them both paying a small amount extra. I picked out Maybelline Color Tattoo On and on Bronze nr 35 and Maybelline popstick Crystal Pink  nr 040. I ended up paying €1,10 extra.

I did a little Primark shopping as well and was getting pretty exhausted :S So I just took the train back home....finding in my mail...a little gift from Maybelline..yay. I didn't thought I would win, but I joined in on a FaceBook competition and I won Color Tattoo Immortal Charcoal nr 55.

A week earlier I received this package from Koh (from another FaceBook competition);

I received my favorite color Funky! along with a mini moisturiser, a mini polish remover, long lasting basecoat and a sheet with stickers with their entire collection. The sheet can be used to create your own wishlist so your partner, friends or familie can easily go to the shop pick up your favorite colors :)

The Revlon colorburst Lip butters in the first picture...they don't actually count to the cheapshopping day...I bought them at Evulbay.

As you can see I piked out Berry Smoothie and Sweet Tart.....and I love em!!! They glide onto your lips, give a nice feeling all day and the pigmentation is just enough. Somewhere between a lipgloss and a lipstick...butter is the perfect word :)

a little close-up

It's been a couple of days since we got home and I'm finally getting back into "normal" mode again. It's always quite strange to get back into your old habbits again when you faced small culture shocks. Shocks in a good way since it were great experiences!!

Since I still have a little time off before I start working at my new work....I'm only gonna do things I wanna do. Blog, shop, watch movies etc etc ;) Let me start with getting back to the "what did I shop for in Tokyo" cause the first couple of photos were terrible!!

This little bag..I didn't shop in Tokyo :) It was a gift for my bday from friends and now it holds my japanese beauty products cause they all fit in it and it looks awsome. I held a little bday party 2 days before we went on the trip (as my bday was during the trip) but I didn't bring the bag along since I was scared I might loose it or it getting damaged... I did see some Kimmidoll items in Tokyo, mostly keychains.

What did I buy;

2 lipbalms by Nivea 1 shimmering/colored and 1 peach flavored (10yrs ago when we visited Italy I bought a Labello lipbalm peach became my favorite!! but I never saw that again ), a lot of CanMake stuff; cute topping nailpolishes for when you're making food related nailart, gel-volume topcoat, amazing eyeliner, ubersweet blush in the color 9 Angelic Heart, dolly eye lash base (very curious how this will look, I do have thick lashes myself) and BB cream, light version.
3 Pa polishes (2 flakies and 1 cute flowers in clear base), 3 different Bb creams by Holika Holika (which is shimmering), Maybelline (mineral based) and a brand named Peras which is completly unknown to me but I tested it in the shop and I liked it a lot!!
The little MAC eyeshadow is from what I heared an Asian didn't know that when I bought it ;) it's the same size as any mineral eyeshadow but now it contains 4 colors!! I picked out Great Beyond. All 4 colors can be used individually, but you can blend them together as well, as the sales person tried to explain to me.
The big cute spray is a hair and head spray by Jewel Jouer (which smells devine!!! Mimi Torte).

I can tell you already I have some favorites and I reaaallly hope I can find either an Evulbay seller or someone who I can swap with cause I need certain products in my life meh. For instance the Jewel Jouer and the CanMake eye liner...lub it!!!

Hhmmm I did make some photos of the huge stuff pile I bought in Tokyo...but I'm not very fond of them :S...the photo's that is ;)

I'll just do a quick intro of what awsomeness I scored and will post more about it and the great areas we visited with some Tokyo photos as well ;)

Most of my new goodies were shopped in the amazing 100¥ shops some readers advised me to go to. I did buy a couple of Bbcreams, some CanMake make-up, Pa polishes and shoes!!! Hello Kitty Vans omg...I wanted them sooo badly ;)

Sooo in advance, I'm terrbibly sorry bout the poor quality of photo's...but I'll make it up soon :)

I'm back :) Tired, almost exhausted, having a slight jetleg/weird feeling of time. A suitcase filled with dirty laundry and massive shoppingstuff...but I can say...

Tokyo is awsome!!!!!!

I will need just a day extra just to get back into normal dutch life again. Do some foodshopping, cuddle the cats, eat "normal" food again..and then I'm ready to show you all my new goodies and share some photos and experiences with this amazing metropolis ;)

quick mini haul

I will be working at a different pharmacy from 1st of October on, which is located within the citys hospital. Since that's not really in the center of town, and I only have a 30mins. lunchbreak, I won't be able to go to the shops that often anymore :S

Perhaps that's the reason why I'm on a shopping haul every single day of the past week hahaha and we still have to go on our trip as well :)

Today I went to my favorite Kruitvat...not!!! The cashiers  should really have some sort of training "how to be polite to customers" I really don't like that place, the only reason I go there is cause they sell certain brands like Catrice and Essence. Ah I went for these;

I already saw the peel-off basecoat on someone elses blog and it reminded me of P2 White Nail Mask which I reviewed here. Just had to buy it, cause I'm very very curious about it. Bet it will be amazing for glitter polishes :) The plate is just very cute and only came along as a little extra. The combination Colour and Change polish + effect designer....I will try out later this week ;) It's toooo warm to do my nails and atm they look so terrible. Extremely dry cuticles due to the weather and the many showers :S I picked out nr 3 Sweet Suprise as the base color/nail polish.

I stole this photo from Google!!!
My new sandals!!!! When I'm at work I'm always wearing my Birkenstock Molinas...but they're no good for vacation/citytrip. At first I was looking for other models with a heelstrap...but I couldn't find anything that caught my eye. After I read some forums I picked out this brand and this model. I'm not very familiair with the brand, my mum recently bought a different model and was very happy with them. I hope I'll be with these as well :) As you can see, plenty of space for my toes so I can still wear some amazing polish hahaha.

testing....Clinique even better eyes

I mentioned before I'm subscribed to a testingbureau, a mouth-to-mouth advertising network called The Insiders. They will often let you know if and when they will start new campaign on random products, by choice you can try to sign in for their campaigns the ones you want to take part in...but it's up to them if you make it in. Cause you have to tell a little about yourself, fill out some webbased forms and they'll take a look if you're suitable to join in.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email about Clinique even better eys eyecream and I know I would reaaallly want to take part in that campaign.....this is why;

**alert...not wearing any make-up**

Besides the no make-up look and pigmentation on my forehead and the dull skintone...I'm desperatly needed to go on a vacation soon :S...I'm starting to have darck cicles underneath my eyes.Boehoeee!! The more stress (work) situations give me, the darker they can get by the end of the week. So I was very very happy to find out I was going to join in this campaign!!!

Last Saterday the package arrived; 6 testers to spread out amongst friends/family/colleagues, a brochure about the campaign itself and the little tube of eyecream;

I thought today would be a perfect day to start with testing...because the past weekend has been amazingly hot and I didn't feel like doing anything at all, not even paying attention to beautyproducts :S Since I have 1 week left at work and will be having 5 weeks off after, I'll have plenty of time to serieusly pay attention to it..perhaps I will notice any differences :)

The idea behind these campaings is not to become a 100% satisfied blogger or make up a fancy story, but just tell the truth and share it with the world ;) I love that you won't be stuck with rules about what not or what to write, this will be purely what I think of it.....starting today!!!

Thus far day 1....feels great on my skin, application went very smooth as you cvan tell the tube as a special end which cools the skin a wee bit as well. So hardly any irritation to the skin. product itself is by Clinique..which stands for allergy tested, 100% fragrance free, opthalmologist tested, for all skin types (1,2,3 and 4)
Product isn't being sold in NL yet, that's why we get to test it, but I see it on many USA based internetshops, retailprice at $39.50

For those who want to register at The can follow this link;

Latest haul..which has a happy ending ;) worst that can happen with shipped packages ;)

I wrote about it 2 posts earlier. I felt a little incomplete without this OPI - I'm all Ears, so I decided to replace it (I did get a refund for it by the company) and since it's no point to just let 1 bottle be shipped, a couple of it's friends were invited to come along as well ;)

The special edition OPI _Spotted I've already shown, as well as a combination of 2 Mini Mouse OPI's...and CG -  Pink Plumeria...

CG - Exotic Encounters, Adventure Red-Y, Kalahari Kiss

2 polishes from Orly's Dark Shadow collection; Decadesof Dysfunction (wich is actually a re-release of Pure Porcelain) and Mysterieus Curse.

Long wanted Barielle Elle's Spell..yay!!

Complete limited collection Cucuba by Catrice;
1.Sunny Side, 2.Reggeaton, 3.Salsa Cubana, 4.Havana Drum and 5.Take it Mint
tadaaaa I couldn't stay behind :) I was actually watching the website each day till these would be available to order.
Unlucky as I am1 bottle leaked a bit, hence the weird looking cap.

I've been wearing No plain Jane all week and it just started to peel at the edges, which is amazing!

I lub em :)

Have you seen this brush by Bourjois?! It's like 2 sided brush 1 end for dotting and the other for creating a french manicure. For a fun brush I thought it was a bit overpriced tbh...€6,95 if I can recall, but I got it with a discount of 25%...which is still plenty :) I haven't tried it yet, but I did find a blog, Pretty in the Desert, which has amazing tips/photo's by Bourjois!!

I'll finish today with a photo of some cupcakes which I made for my sweet sweet cousins first bday :) She's turning into such a cute little girl!!

nomnom banana and strawberry flavoured blue and purple cupcakes.

300th post :) woooop

This is my 300th post on this blog!!

It's not really a milestone I've's just plain fun really :)
As I started this blog I wanted to be a little spot where I could share my hobbies and interests like nailpolish, beauty/make-up, gaming/mmorpg's, food, baking, jewelry making etc etc... and I succeeded in that. The main subject has to be my continuously growing nailpolish obsession, but I'm fine with that :) In fact...I'll tell a funny pink story and end up with pink nails and cupcakes!!

After I'm done with work, I ride my bicycle home...make diner or the hubby does that, eat, do dishes or laundry, watch some tv or fall asleep on the couch...EXCEPT!!! when it's brides evening hahaha. Programs like Say Yes to the Dress or Brides of Beverly Hills...I love it. I've been married for a little over 2 yrs so I don't really have the desire to organise anything for ourselves, but it's so much fun to see all the emotions of others. Some fun and emotional moments, but others can almost lead into fights when bridesmades suddenly don't want to wear a particular color :S And what about hose girls that decide to try on dresses waaay above their budget or even worst their families budget. I love watching it as I really have no idea what goes on in their minds :)

We got married but I had plenty of time to arrange everything, as we already set a specific date, the day we would be together 10yrs. And for me...a wedding..well yes it's special and we as well wanted to celebrate it with the ones who are closest to us. But we both agreed on certain costs. I didn't want my dress to be $5000...or even $2000. In the end my dress cost me $150 and I was so happy with it. I spend 2 days trying and fitting some dresses with my friends on in shops just to see what style would look great and what felt right for my body, and after that I ended up emailing with a chinese/american company and they handmade it for me. I just ended up with more money to spend on my weddingring and our trip haha.

Hmm yes I've shown that silly photo before, and my actual funny story got a little twist and ended up different then I had expected....and you can hardly see my $150 dress duhh

I just like programs like that, people getting overexcited about things they all of a sudden loose all grip of a fun way :) And me seeing things like that thinking...aah I can that in a much more cheaper way. And I surf the netsz for cheap cheap stores and ideas blabla and I get cheap nail polish and amazing swaps in MUA!!

I'll end it up fast with some pink nails and pink cupcakes before I brabble too much about my cheap hobbies ;)

I sewiously ated almost all!!! Vanilla cupcakes with a rasberry icing both colored extremely pink ofc since that tastes way better.
And I had to do my nails in my latest obtained pink polish. It's lovely MAC - Vagabondage :)

my past 1,5 months..

so I was a little abscent :) and things happend as live just goes on and on and on....

I'll do a quick photoshoot of the past 1,5 months;

We've had some extreme fruits-of-the-region in our fridge for a while. lot's of strawberries, cherries and raspberries. Actually it was way too much as we ended up making smoothies with the raspberries cause we've had them for a while they already went squishy in their tiny cardboard boxes.

I've planted 4 different kind of seeds and 3 came out which are; basil, peppers and tomatoes. I wonder when the plants will give me their fruits s the weather is terrrrible here atm, only raining. I actually don't dare to put the plants outside now cause I'm afraid they'll get too much water/rain and that will just ruin all the "hard" work. So I'll just spoil them now inside the house and we'll just see how it'll go.

I baked cakes....and this is one of them. that same day I bought a new silicon mold for the bird/cherryblossom tree. Don't know how that would be for you, but when I buy something I immediatly wanna try it out. it's no fancy cake it's just 2layer spongecake with a cherry flavoured extremely purple colored icing nomnomnom. cause it was such a light snack it was gone in a couple of days :)

On to the polishes woooop
In this picture I finally try sort of a half moon manicure. The black polish is Illamasqua - Scorn, with Sephora by OPI - Shiny Dancer and topped it with Seche Vite...I love the blueish metallic look of Shiny Dancer and Scorn is one of the best blacks to work with...specially since it's originale a matte one.
 My favorite neonish pink/coral!!!!

China Glaze - Pink Plumera.

I was eager to pick out a pink colored from CG latest neon colors but it was soooo hard. I watched so many swatches and I decided on Pink Plumera and i ahven't regreted it at all!!! i love, it would look even better on a taned skin, but on pale it works out well :)
I've been waiting for this collection to be available for a while. I love pinks (and purples...) and i knew I had to have all 4 of teh OPI - Mini Mouse polishes...unfortunatly during the trip to my house 1 of the 4 bottles exploded and made a complete mess of the entire package, but I'll just re-order it cause i want them complete :)

I'm wearing If you Moust, you Moust with Nothin' Mouse about it, topped with Seche Vite.

This is actually the most amazing polish ever made!!!  Not the blue one but the black ;)
I'm wearing China Glaze - Techno Tael in 2 coats and topped it with....OPI - Spotted yessss

My special french friend :) has arranged a bottle for me during a tiny swap, big thnx to her mom, and i'm in love with it. I try not to use it too much, as I don't want to run out of it.
I'm still very into crackle idea why?! But this one is just...special :)

Well that was kind of a fast forward view, I'm off to do my nails!!! Ooow I should really show my uber stash of swap goods from MUA. the pile is getting bigger and bigger :)
